Money problems had been cited by numerous surveys, statistics, and editorials as the#1 leading cause of divorce amongst married couples living in the US. However, most don’t go any deeper to determine WHY the couple had money problems in the first place.
Money problems are just a SYMPTOM of other issues in the marriage. Whether it’s lack of trust, addiction, abuse, infidelity, or division of labor, these and other issues all have a “money component” in them, which most people just blame the cause of their divorce on “money problems”
The fact is, it’s the lack of financial communication, or communication in general, that has broken down and caused two united people to put up a wall between them. Small indiscretions, little white lies, a hidden purchase here or there, all contribute to the lack of communication and broken trust.
Fortunately, it’s never too late for any couple to learn how to communicate again and get back to a place where the relationship becomes the focus.
I’m commited to helping you restore the communication that may be lacking in your marriage when it comes to money issues. Feel free to send me an email, I’ll be happy to answer your questions.
